PittPharmacy_EmilyMallit_Alum2014_001Emily Mallit PharmD ’14 was selected to serve on the 2015-2016 American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) Government Affairs Committee. This leadership group advocates for the interests of long-term care pharmacy and legislation that supports optimal medication use in post-acute care facilities. The Government Affairs Committee works closely with ASCP’s Policy & Advocacy department to develop the society’s legislative priorities and communications both on a national and state level. Members of the ASCP Government Affairs Committee collaborate on regulations from many other government organizations such as Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service (CMS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and  Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).

Emily Mallit is Director of Clinical Services at Garda Rx, a long-term care pharmacy servicing nursing facilities in Western Pennsylvania.
