PittPharmacy student Rena Jiang (Class of 2018) recently attended the TED (Technology Entertainment Design) Conference: TEDWomen 2016: It’s About Time. in San Francisco, California. 
It is a very prestigious honor to be admitted to attend a TED conference, and many people apply years before being admitted. TED receives thousands of applications from all across the globe and according to a Bloomberg article, “You can’t fake it on a TED application. Organizers look for people who are leaders in their fields”. Jiang applied and was accepted on her first try to represent the University of Pittsburgh and the School of Pharmacy.
Jiang is organizing the TEDxUniversityofPittsburgh event on behalf of the Graduate and Professional Student Government. Attending this conference allows Pitt to be eligible for a higher level of TEDx licensing.
