Associate Professor Melissa A. Somma McGivney, PharmD ’98, FCCP, will be recognized as a Fellow of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) at their upcoming Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida in March, 2014. Individuals recognized as Fellows of APhA have rendered outstanding service to the profession through activities in APhA and in other organizations, their Impact on the profession (Innovative Practice/Research/Scholarly activities), and service to the community.

McGivney has been a member of APhA since 1993 and has continued active involvement serving on a number of committees and task forces to advance the role of the pharmacist in providing care to patients in their communities through the provision of Medication Therapy Management. She has served as an invited speaker, co-authored papers in the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association, and supports numerous students and residents in presenting poster presentations at the APhA meetings each year.

Melissa McGivney is an associate professor in the School of Pharmacy pharmacy and therapeutics department.
