Sophia Yang has been selected as a Junior Commissioned Officer Student Training Program (JrCOSTEP) of the U.S. Public Health Service with the Indian Health Service. She will be commissioned as an ensign (O-1) officer in Eagle Butte, South Dakota. This will be her second tour with the U.S. Public Health Service.

PittPharmacy student Sophia Yang (Class of 2016) has accepted a Junior Commissioned Officer Student Training and Extern Program JrCOSTEP position for the summer of 2014. Yang will report to the Division of the Civilian Volunteer Medical Reserve Corps (DCVMRC) under the Office of the Surgeon General.

In addition to working with the DCVMRC, Yang will spend her time with Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Global Affairs, and possibly the Federal Bureau of Prisons Pharmacy.
